WHAT IS FRESHERS’?

Freshers’ is the Students’ Union’s official programme of events that are held from 15 September to the 29 September! It's two of the most important weeks on the calendar, designed to help you meet lots of new people, get familiar with campus, and discover new experiences.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FRESHERS’ AND FIRST EXPERIENCE?

Freshers’ is the Students’ Union’s contribution to First Experience at the University of South Wales. Essentially all the events run by the SU are included in Freshers’.

HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER OF THE STUDENTS’ UNION?

Every student at the University of South Wales is automatically a member of the University of South Wales Students’ Union. You can opt out of this by ticking a box during the enrolment process with the University.

I’M HAVING TROUBLE LOGGING IN TO BUY TICKETS, WHAT DO I DO?

If you have already been given your login details for the University you can use them to login to the Students’ Union website. If you are still waiting on your log in details you can sign up for a guest account here. If you still have problems with logging in please email studunion@southwales.ac.uk stating your student number (if you have it) and the error message you have encountered and we’ll get you online.

DO I NEED TO PRINT OFF EVENT TICKETS?

Once you’ve made your purchase you will be emailed a confirmation email and ticket, in addition the ticket will be viewable within the account area of your profile on our website. To avoid any delays, you should print your ticket and bring it with you to the event.

WILL TICKETS BE AVAILABLE FOR EVENTS ON THE DOOR?

There is likely to be a few tickets available on the door on the night of the event, however this is not always guaranteed. To avoid disappointment, we strongly advise that students purchase all their tickets online or at an SU Information Desk in advance.

I MISSED FRESHERS' FAIR, WILL I STILL BE ABLE TO JOIN A TEAM, CLUB OR SOCIETY?

You can join a sports club or society all year round. Visit the sports clubs or societies website pages to get a full list of the activities that you can get involved in. We recommend you attend Freshers’ Fair though, as signing up via the website doesn’t guarantee you any important information such as the first social that the group might host during Freshers’.
